Green Herbs Limited, a respected producer of herbal medications and dietary supplements, approached me in 2021 to design a website for their company. Their goal was to provide a platform to showcase their natural health remedies and expand their reach in the market.

About Green Herbs Limited: Green Herbs Limited is a dynamic producer of natural pharmaceutical treatments, herbal medications, and dietary supplements. Founded in 2007 by Dr. Godwin Anywar, a lecturer at Makerere University’s Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, Green Herbs is dedicated to providing scientifically proven natural health remedies as alternatives to synthetic products.

Technologies Used:

Adobe XD, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress, WooCommerce Approach: I started by creating a design concept for the website theme, which was approved by Dr. Anywar. As this was my first online store project, I conducted thorough research to ensure the design would align with the client’s vision and industry best practices. Using Adobe XD, I crafted the visual design and then converted it into a fully functional dynamic website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress as the backend content management system.

1. E-commerce Integration: Upon the client’s request, I integrated the WooCommerce plugin to enable online sales and payment processing. This allowed Green Herbs Limited to accept payments directly through its website.
2. Product Showcase: The website features a comprehensive catalog showcasing the range of herbal medications and dietary supplements offered by Green Herbs Limited. Each product is accompanied by detailed descriptions, ingredients, and recommended usage.
3. Research and Testing: Highlighting Green Herbs Limited’s commitment to scientific research and laboratory phytotherapeutic testing, the website provides information about their research process and scientific approach to product development.

Challenges and Growth: Integrating the e-commerce functionality posed a challenge that I overcame by exploring the WooCommerce plugin. This experience not only enhanced my technical skills but also deepened my understanding of building online stores.
